Larger than life raindrops cover the sky completely as they touch down on the tops of what appear to be buildings in the shadows of night.
Even though this is like a night time scene, the whimsy is not lost in this abstract.
When I painted it, I began with laying down areas of all the shades of mid teal green, blue and turquoise I had at hand, then areas of lavender and dark blue and purple. Somewhere in the process, a large teardrop shape appeared, so I went with it. Also, some white came on the scene, and I liked how it created depth in layering, so I went with that too.
Like many of my paintings, I was playing with colors, and when certain shapes and likenesses presented themselves, I let those take direction as I continued the process.
