Desert Snow

Desert Snow

"Desert Snow" is painted on an 8x10" Canvas with Acrylic paint, in Landscape orientation.

The colors used in this small painting include shades of beige and white with hints of palest jade green, palest sage green, pale aqua, lavender and mid violet.

This work is available as a Silk Scarf and as Fine Art Giclee Reproductions on Paper or Canvas.

Starting with beige and white, the remnants of turquoise and violet mixed in the brush to create an ethereal effect. The overall look is beige, not my usual color at all, yet the bright white masterfully enlightens the canvas to give the look of snow.

Calling it sandy (instead of beige) elevates this work in my mind from feeling dull to being a veritable creation of light and reflection.

The sloping swath of bright white from the left through the center of the painting, with shades of lavender and aqua, give an illusion of a mountain range. A looming violet slope on the right could be a rocky outcropping, but the work remains very abstract.

You might think it's a dust storm or it maybe it's a blizzard in white. Perhaps it is both.

The ending result is a feeling of purity and hope.
