Make a Wish

Make a Wish

"Make a Wish" is painted on a 12x12" square Canvas with Acrylic paint.

The colors used in this painting include shades of cadmium red, creamy beige and white with faint hints of peach.

This work is available as Fine Art Giclee Reproductions on Paper or Canvas.

Here's one of set of 3 that I painted to go with a large painting, "Pulsation of Life," for a show at a winery. The other two square ones of the same dimensions are "Mystery of Life" and "Pinnacle Falls."

Squishing the paint straight out of the tube lent itself to a lot of three dimensional texture, which is also how I painted the large one. The upward streaks and strokes are optimistic, with the idea of possibility thinking.

Some of the shapes made me think of a wishbone, hence the title.

Though there is a great deal of movement, there is also a fair amount of space between, so that one might feel deliberate and measured about the action they are about to take.

Red has a very active meaning, but there is a lot of beige in the background, and as much white as red. It all adds up to a balance of opposites.

What is your wish?
