Summer Heat and Summer Colors

[caption id="attachment_1690" align="alignleft" width="300" caption="Psychedelic Love Looks Like Love"]Psychedelic Sunshine Looks Like Love Collage[/caption] Summer on the West Coast seems to be racing by already, and yet we are still experiencing some great heat. Are you enjoying this true summer weather? Personally, when the weather is fine, sunny and warm, I am far more likely to wear brighter colors. I kinda like to match what I'm wearing to the sky, it seems. How about you? Does your wardrobe change much with the seasons? Do you find you wear less black in the summer? Write and tell me your personal preferences. I love incorporating your choices into my work, both my painting and designing silk scarves. (PS Paintings included in this collage are "Psychedelic Sunshine" and "Looks Like Love." The silk scarf I'm wearing is designed using "Champagne Dreams.")

Ah, love your loyalty to pastels, Debbie ;) I do with color in general what you describe doing with pastels.

It’s always inspiring to me to see how others do things. I love how we’re all the same yet different, as people.

Thanks always for your great feedback!

I always tend to wear pastels no matter the time of year. In the winter I tend to use them more as accessories and less as my clothing. This time of year, I love my pinks, purples and lighter colors!

What a great experiment, Roslyn..! I wonder if they were responding to novelty, or to the possibility that those brighter, warmer colors really suit you well. Do you ever wear aqua by itself, without the purple?

Thanks for weighing in here. Your comments are so much appreciated..!

This summer I decided to try wearing a few new colors. Every time I put on my orange, green or rose tee, I got compliments. My usual attire of purple & aqua went unnoticed. I tend to avoid black because it absorbs the heat of the sun.
As we don’t do summer shows, or designs are mostly for other seasons.
