Crimson Valley

Crimson Valley

$45.00

"Crimson Valley" is painted on an 8x10" Canvas with Acrylic paint, in Portrait orientation.

The colors used in this painting include shades of purple, deep teal green, crimson, fuchsia and lavender with a touch of mid to dark blues and turquoise green with a bold golden yellow streak.

This work is available as Fine Art Giclee Reproductions on Paper or Canvas.

I started painting "Crimson Valley" several years ago with my then young granddaughter at my side. She was suggesting some of the colors I could use next as I went along adding to the work.

At one point, the shades I was applying got darker than fuchsia, lavender and turquoise . That's when I noticed her interest drifting off to more active pursuits. It gave me a little chuckle.

This painting is definitely on the darker side overall, which makes the golden yellow streak all the more contrastive. It reminds me of a tunnel of golden treasure.

Some time later, my niece (who was older than my granddaughter) gave it the name. I love how this painting became something of a family collaboration.

The feeling I get with this one is that hidden treasure runs deep just like still waters run deep. Buried treasure is there to be found.
